Peace Explorer

The PEACE EXPLORERS are:

  • a peace project for children, teens and teachers. A program that is implemented in schools where we learn and explore how peace can succeed
  • a curriculum, a training program and the development of practical peace skills
  • an international network in which children and adults together explore the “Art of living Peace”
  • a learning ground and a vision

How I work?

I guide children, teens and teachers through a peace curriculum. I invite ...

  • the participants into a space of learning and an embodied peace practise.
  • children to reflect and to observe so they can better understand and accept themselves and others.
  • inspiration, so we can learn from each other and align our inner compass.
  • peace, so it is not just a word, but lived and felt.

I draw on my many years of experience working as a peace and conflict consultant for international organisations, including the German Civil Peace Service.

In the program we will learn and apply tools from peace and conflict research, activate local knowledge and get inspired by examples that show options how conflicts can be resolved. We dive into the many different ways of cocreating a peaceful world. We will immerse ourselves in mindfulness and peace practices from around the world and we define what works and can be lived exactly where we are: in school communities, colleges, organizations.

Peace must be lived and embodied

Peace is not static, it is rather a process and it requires

skills, mutual learning, constant practice and the dream that it is possible.

Peace is present the moment we live it.

It arises within us and within our communities - and it is always new.

The Curriculum ...

... is structured in such a way that children of different ages and cultural backgrounds find a space for experience and development. The Peace Explorer program invites all participants to embark on a learning journey. This journey is usually designed to last a year in order to be firmly anchored in school life. An alternative approach is to immerse yourself intensively within the framework of project weeks or simply to start with an impulse day.

The Peace Explorers have had an international structure right from the start and so I work across schools and countries, on site and online - in a lively network and a strong community.
